MEDIHELP ROMANIA: “OVER 50% OF REQUESTS FOR HEALTH INSURANCE RECEIVED IN 2016 CAME FROM RECOMMENDATIONS FROM EXISTING CLIENTS”

Bucharest, 30th November, 2016. In 2016, the Romanian health insurance market has seen significant growth thanks to the increased interest in this type of product. The main reason for this growth seems to be the need for eliminating the uncertainty factor related to receiving health care, and also the need to educate the East-European population about the financial risks you face when not covered by health insurance.

MediHelp is one of the health insurance companies facing an ascending trend in terms of turnover in 2016. Since the beginning of the year, MediHelp Romania has reported a 34% increase in intermediate health insurance premiums, 50% of these coming from recommendations made by existing customers. Furthermore, 90% of the individuals who have requested health insurance in the past year were interested in family health insurance plans.

The increased in requests for MediHelp’s health insurance plans is due to the good relationships the company has developed with existing clients and to the positive interactions clients have with MediHelp’s partners. The high-end services offered by the Customer Care department in the claims settlement process has also had a great impact on the company’s popularity.

Regarding the RCA situation brokers have faced this year, MediHelp’s recommendation is to bet on other lines of business, including health insurance. This sort of product can balance the loss caused by the dramatic drop of the commission obtained by Romanian insurance brokers, by being a high interest service for both individuals and companies.
